Day 23 of Asia Adventure October 26th, 2012
Day 23 of Asia Adventure Get up early this morning as have the train to get to Busan. I get to travel by the traditional diesal train to get to Busan. Train arrives and once on it, its quite comfortable to ride this thing.
Finally after 90 minutes arrive into Busan at Haundae Beach.
Here is some information about Busan:
Busan (Officially Busan Metropolitan City), formerly spelled Pusan (Korean pronunciation: [pusan]) is South Korea’s second largest metropolis after Seoul, with a population of approximately 3.
6 million. The Metropolitan area (includes adjacent cities of Gimhae and Yangsan) population is 4,399,515 as of 2010. It has Korea’s largest beach and Korea’s longest river. It is the largest port city in South Korea and the world’s fifth busiest seaports by cargo tonnage. The city is located on the southeastern-most tip of the Korean peninsula. The most densely built up areas of the city are situated in a number of narrow valleys between the Nakdong River and Suyeong River, with mountains separating some of the districts. Administratively, it is designated as a Metropolitan City. The Busan metropolitan area is divided into 15 major administrative districts and a single county.
So I arrive into Busan and walk 4 easy blocks to find my hotel. Which is near the beach as well. So after checking in I go for walk down to the beach. It is a nice beach and weather is very nice today.
I walk full length of beach and around the hiking trails of the small island around to the Apec Centre and light house, Ends up being a short walk as the distance is shorter then expected.
After this I walk more of the area to the business district of the city area and returning to the beach. I get hungry and go have a Burger King for a mid lunch and its the hottest BK I have ever had, could barely hold on to the thing.
Time for a quick afternoon rest before heading out again.
This evening go walk around in the markets and see how the nightlife is in the area.
