Weekend Vacation Destinations in the Northeast

As the summer kicks into high gear, weekend trips to some hot spot destinations can be a great way to see some sights outside of your neck of the woods. The Northeast of the United States has many different experiences to offer within the region and whether you decide to take a road trip to one of these locations or to book a jet charter service, a great weekend getaway awaits.index

Beantown is one of the oldest cities in the country and it’s a great place to visit for a long weekend with the family. Like many other cities, Boston offers something for everyone, whether they are a baseball fan, a history buff, or a connoisseur of fine seafood. Tourists tend to flock to the Freedom Trail, which offers a glimpse into the long history of the city and nation. For a true Boston eating experience, there’s nothing quite like taking a stroll through Fanueil Hall Marketplace and grab a bite from one of the many pushcarts the market has to offer. – Exciting World Travels

Martha’s Vineyard

Just a stone’s throw away from Boston, Martha’s Vineyard can be a great New England trip for those that wish to spend a relaxing weekend by the beach. Whether you’re willing to brave the famous ferry ride or opt for a charter jet service to get you to the island, Martha’s Vineyard is one of the most beautiful beach communities in the country. While you’re there, take a trip up Edgartown Lighthouse or walk through the aisles at one of the wineries – you’ll be glad you did.

The history of the Civil War is alive and well in the Pennsylvania town of Gettysburg. Almost completely preserved as it had been in the 1860’s, Gettysburg is like stepping into the past. There, you can take a tour on horseback of the battlegrounds and participate in a number of walking tours through Civil War-era buildings during the day and search for the paranormal side of the town by night. And for the weekend sportsman in the family, be sure to bring the clubs, as there are plenty of links around town.

The Chesapeake Bay Area

For the seafood lover, if you don’t plan on taking a trip up to Boston, the next best place to go is to the Chesapeake Bay Area of Baltimore and it’s surrounding area. You can have soft shell crab by the bucket-full. You can tour the bay by sailboat or by ferry to see the beauty of the area from the water. If you’re in Baltimore at the right time, you can catch a game at Camden Yards, arguably the most beautiful stadium in all of baseball.

New York City

If every city has something for everyone, New York City has that tenfold. “The City That Never Sleeps” packs more into the relatively small island of Manhattan than most cities; so much so that you would never be able to scratch the surface of what it can offer to you. Art, sports, theater, dining, and shopping are all abundant in the Big Apple. That’s just one of the five boroughs.

Wherever you decide to go, taking a weekend away from where you call home is a great way to make the memories last.
